The Sage Foundation For Dogs Who Serve

The Sage Foundation For Dogs Who Serve

Many dogs provide hard, dangerous and loyal service beside their human handlers in wars, crime prevention, and natural and man made disasters. When these dogs are injured or fall ill, often as a direct result of their work, their services are terminated; their fate, uncertain.

Our mission is to promote the welfare of dogs who have faithfully served (often in harm’s way) in wars, police work, crime prevention, and rescue efforts through education and increased public awareness.

Hello, This is a rather personal note as I just wanted to wish you well for the future with your foundation in honour of all dogs who provide special service.

Sage herself must have been a very exceptional dog.

I came across your site as Sage is a great-aunt to my own Border Collie living with me here in England. Another stunning looking dog just like Sage with Littlethorn Continental as Grandad.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy to you on Sage’s passing. I can understand your loss; my own Border Collie, Gail died 10 days after Sage, it was on her 15th birthday. She was my 4th BC since 1983.

Anticipating the loss I had already decided this time I would not wait and there he was, Sage’s great-nephew who is called Jake. It doesn’t take the loss away but it does ease the pain. I hope you too can find another black and white hero with which you can share all the love and joy you had with Sage. Best wishes
